25-26 Winter Riders Challenge

Winter officially begins on December 21, and with it comes a familiar cold-weather tradition: the Winter Riders Challenge between South Sound Scooters and Vespa Portland. For the next three months, we’re inviting riders to bundle up, log their miles, and ride straight through the season that makes non-riders ask, “Wait… you ride year-round?”

This challenge is all about friendly competition, community pride, and proving that scooters don’t hibernate. Ride solo, ride with friends, commute, explore, grab coffee, repeat. Every mile counts.

The challenge runs through March 20, when we’ll tally the miles and crown both the top riders and the shop with the strongest winter showing.


HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Sign up by stoppying by your local shop, or sending a clear photo of your current odometer reading via DM, social media, or email to info@southsoundscooters.com

Starting mileage must be submitted on or after December 21st – you may join after but any miles ridden before you officially register will not count toward your total.


HOW TO TRACK PROGRESS

Once registered, your name will be added to our digital leaderboard where you can update your mileage as often as you’d like (or not at all and stay mysterious.)

Ride consistently, log honestly, and watch the miles stack up – final odometer photos will need be sent in on or before March 20th, 2026

We’ll also compare average miles per rider to determine which shop claims this year’s bragging rights.


MILEAGE REWARD TIERS

All participants receive a Winter Riders Challenge sticker.

250 miles – 15% off coupon (In-stock items & accessories only. Excludes bikes.)

500 miles – Free t-shirt

750 miles – Free hoodie

1,000 miles – $50 gift certificate (limited to the first three people to claim – let us know when you reach this milestone!)

Overall Winner – $150 gift certificate, t-shirt, and trophy 🏆

*All prizes must be claimed by the end of May!


RIDE RESPONSIBLY

This challenge is about dedication, not danger. Ride smart, ride prepared, and know your limits.

We do not recommend riding in snow or icy conditions, and extra caution should be taken at all times during winter riding. South Sound Scooters and Vespa Portland are not liable for any injuries or damages resulting from participation in the Winter Riders Challenge.
